A Poem: Pruned

A little poem for y'all of the top of my head...

Lord done pruned me back to nothing but the trunk

Forced me to the throne and shined a light on all my junk

Just me and my wife, Whitney, she's still shining bright

A growing pack of kids and a few Godlys by my side

People keep asking how I'm doing, what's up, what's next

That I'm joyful despite all that's been lost has 'em vexxed

But I meant it when I prayed God take it if you want to

I'd give it all away if that's what He wanted me to do,

and he wanted me to

In my so-called loss, at first, I felt poor and down and out

Till I remembered my inheritance and in Jesus all my clout

Still got people in my path with millions on their books

Calling me for my riches cause death has got 'em shook

Meanwhile God's got me pouring into all these youth

Their moms and dads out hustling for braces for their tooth

While I'm putting smiles on their faces with that childlike spirit

Showing them the way, the truth, the light, they gonna hear it.

Watching warriors emerge, arrows in the quiver

Showing men how to give up their life like they been

dunked with Christ again in the river

I'm just working where the Lord put me, that's the strategy

no looking back on this plow, and if you know my story

he ain't been stingy, no he ain't been stingy...

haha. writing is fun.

Bless you all, and if you are tired, worn out, ready to give up, de-life yourself, got no peace, nowhere to turn, don't be shy to reach out cuz I got love for you most of the world don't know about.
