My Godly Wife

So the other day my wife shows me a post she put on Instagram, and as I looked through her posts, I realize that she's putting all these wonderful little nuggets of her faith online too. 

I mean, I know that these things happen in her life all the time, but to see how she documents it, life through her eyes, well, let's just say I'm one proud husband.

And the best part, look who get's the glory!

Synonym for merry is joyful...and that is how I feel about this season! I love pointing my kiddos to Jesus and all that he represents, which are gifts far greater than what will be under our tree! #morejesus #lessstuff #welovecelebrating

We made our own 'thankful tree' this year because 1. Teaching our boys to be thankful is important and 2. I like to be crafty. Boden asks daily to do it, and while it seems he doesn't really grasp the concept I know it's getting tucked away in his heart and seeds are being planted. #letsbethankful #allyearlong #weloveholidays #trainupachild #prov22:6

I recently shared my story of Lukas's birth with someone (it was a doozy for me). It's been on my mind the past couple of days because his story might play into our next child's story (God has given me some hints and no I'm not pregnant!). Ive needed the reminder of how God has worked in difficult situations in my life. A.W Tozer said "What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." There was this older woman grocery shopping near us today. She came closer and smiled and asked about my littlest, his name. "His name is Lukas." She grinned and said that was her late husbands name, he would have been 100 if he was still alive. She was spunky and still full of life as she looked at my boys and spoke to them. "These are the days" she said. (I've heard this many times before). "They are busy and you are always going, but you can fix their problems now, when they get older you can't". Such truth! I think about slowly letting my boys go as they get older knowing that they will have to make choices I'm not around for or involved in and it gets me a bit emotional because I want to always be there to protect them, but this beautifully wise and very wrinkled (which is beautiful) lady reminded me, enjoy this, this messy, non-stop, fun, wild and crazy time in our life with 2 young boys. So love hard today even if you are knee deep in laundry, kids throwing toys all around (when you like it neat), whining and fussing for days, and every surface is covered in finger prints because before we know it they will be grown and the house will be quiet. #perspective #thankfulforwiseandunexpectedtruthshared #evenfromstrangers #blesshersweetheart #lovingthejourney

As I was doing my early morning watering I saw this bud opening and was reminded that God is in control of every little itty bitty detail. Just look at the detail and beauty of a small bloom, imagine his great love and concern for our hearts. There are so many voices these days I hear as a parent (eat all organic, no vaccines, get vaccines, send your kids to school early, potty train at 18 months old, let them decide what they want, don't use diapers use cloth, breastfeed for x amount of time, they should be reading and counting by 4 etc etc). BUT for me it's all drowned out by Gods voice which tells me to pray, be in his word and then all I can do is rest assured that He has my children in the palm of his hands. After all they are His first. #thankfulforthereminders #godscreation #Godsincontrol
